The Salem Baking Company has been baking these cookies for over 75 years, using an old traditional Eastern European recipe. Made using wheat flour and light brown sugar, warm molasses and fine spices and rolled paper thin. They come in 7 oz tubes (170 grams) and in 3.5 oz tubes (90 g). And now as a holiday tin, 8 oz.

Absolutely loved these thin, crisp cookies. I got these for Xmas one year and I was pleasantly surprised with the taste and texture. Scrumptious!

These cookies were like a super special treat. Sweet, crisp, a hint of spice, wonderful. As a mom, I should share. No way. These I truly kept for myself. I'd put the kids to bed, get some coffee, put on a candle, get a good book, soft music and a few cookies. It was like being transformed. I keep the tin in my office as a reminder of quiet times for later.
