I saw a demonstration at a store and bought two sets. The guy did the whole "cola on carpet" routine and it soaked up all the carpet and left it white again. I got home and wanted to try something similar so put juice on an old sweater. Needless to say it did not work and stains still there. I guess its good as a recyclable paper towel, but didnt do like the ad. There seems to be some misconceptions about the usefulness of this product. It is not a super absorber for sucking the moisture off of surfaces leaving them bone dry. Instead, it works as a suitable substitute for paper towels while offering greater mess cleaning ability than a regular cloth towel. The Shamwow is ideal for cleaning up spills as it can be wrung out repeatabley maintaining a thirsty towel unlike a regular cloth that will remain saturated. When I first saw the commercial for the shamwow, I was so excited and I couldn't wait to get it! However, I did not want to order it over the phone or online and pay shipping and handling, so I decided to hold off on the purchase until the shamwow was available in stores, but in the meantime I purchased 2 similar products, the "aquadry" and "the absorber." In due time, I found and bought the shamwow at my local Walmart...with great expectations!

I watched the demo at a mall & they were able to get the small Shamwow to hold an entire pie pan full of water without any drips. I got mine home & tried to do the same thing with about 4 oz of water in a glass & it wouldn't even hold that much. So far, it hasn't worked well with anything I've tried, including my car. Stick with the real chamois or terry cloth!
