This is the old chipmunks singing their classics along with a few others. Great for the kids and didnt make my ears bleed like I thought it would. Brings back some memories.

In 2007, Capitol/EMI FINALLY released on CD the closest-to-perfect configuration to date of the Chipmunks' two original Christmas albums. All twenty-four original songs (plus a bonus track) were included. The original cover art from both volumes was used even replicating the "foil" look of the original 1960s LPs. This was a great christmas cd that brought back the good old days when I used to watch the chipmunks. The voices are very clear and still make me laugh.

Ross Bagdasarian, a.k.a. David Seville, created the great sound of The Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon and Theodore) essentially by taking the sound of a few people singing and speeding it up to sound like small animals singing. This technique works well still today; their Christmas album is a delight for the kids and inevitably nostalgic for us adults. Just one listen proves it!
