Black Symphony was a unique concert at Rotterdam's Ahoy Arena on February 7, 2008 sold out months in advance. Within Temptation performed to 10,000 fans with the 60 piece Metropole Orchestra and a 20 voice classical choir, as well as on stage stilt performers, costume changes, and an array of stunning pyrotechnic and lighting effects.

I am very much in love with this dvd. This is much better than The Silent Force tour dvd, which was still great of course. While there are 3 extras, I still feel the need for more bonus features, like music videos perhaps. Also, I noticed the video quality somewhat lacked in the quick flash moments but I sat very close to the screen so normally I doubt it is noticeable. Overall, Black Symphony is not to be missed!

Tout simplement renversant, la qualité visuelle est impeccable et la piste audio l'est tout autant! Je m'attendais à quelque chose de très bon connaissant Within Temptation mais ce spectacle est au-delà de mes attentes. Les voix riches et très justes de Sharon del Adel et de ses invités nous éblouissent, l'orchestre Métropolitain et les choristes s'harmonisent parfaitement aux chansons présentées. Un des meilleurs spectacles que j'aie vu à présent...

One of the best CD/DVD of this band.
The only down side is that the U.S version doesn't have all the songs of the concert but the Japanese version have them all.
Other than that a must have CD if you like Within Temptation.

Black Symphony by Within Temptation is a great buy. Not only is the cd worth having and listening to but the dvd of the concert.......well words can't justify. What a concert, I would have loved to been there for it, the lights, pyrotechnics, everything was great. An absolute "MUST HAVE" if you are a WT fan.

This will be a very pure review in that up until last week I'd never heard of this band, and I still know nothing about them except what I've gathered from the documentary within this fantastic DVD. Which is not much since I'm not fluent in their language.
