The DVD player was purchased for my teenage son who really enjoys watching movies. The price and quality of the Philips brand is second to none. We purchased a HDMI television a while back so the HDMI DVD player has made his audio and visual needs complete.

I'm not a huge audio/videophile so this won't necessarily be the most technical review out there but let me tell you the great things about this DVD player. The feature that sold me on it was the USB port. I can now take any movie off of my computers hard drive, put it on a little thumb drive, and play it on the player. This player is really good and cheap. Use it everyday to watch movies and dvd concerts. My favorite feature is the USB slot which let me watch movies that are on my computer. Pair this player with a USB hard drive and you have a nice media center.

I was looking for a relatively inexpensive upconverting DVD player, and this one seemed like a pretty good deal. It actually worked very well for a short while. I was happy with the HDMI connection, and quite satisfied with the picture and sound quality.
