This is an excellent product, much easier to use than the previous one that I owned (different brand). Shipping was very fast.

I bought mine for Thanksgiving and it worked out perfectly. I was even able to adjust my stove because the degree knob was not accurately adjusted. For the fun of it I tested it on a few different items like taking my own temperature, read 98.6 consistently.

Thanksgiving a.m. and I tried to use this and it didn't work. I read the instructions 20 times but couldn't get it to work. Went to the OS web site but nothing helpful. I finally read comments on Amazon.com about resetting both units at the same time, which got it to work, finally. Amazing that there is nothing about it in the instructions. I received this as a gift in late 2007. This product is a great concept, as I've been able to use it in a variety of applications: grilling, baking/roasting, and an outdoor smoker.
Unfortunately, it stopped working after 4 uses. The temperature reading would be way off, like 178 degrees at room temperature, 59 degrees for an ice slurry (chipped ice/water; used to determine accuracy), etc.

I've used other wireless thermometers and they do not hold a candle to this little gem. I live in a 3 story townhouse apartment, so my living room is on the 2nd floor... quite a ways away from my smoker. The other wireless thermometers that I've had could never read the signal at the grill when I put them on my coffee table.
