One of ZZ Top's great gifts is its concision; even in the side-long-jam era of the '70s, the Texans almost always fit 10 cuts on their albums. Surveying two decades of their output, Greatest Hits isn't the perfect overview you might expect, but it's still a pretty darn good driving album. The disc goes easy on the pre-Deguello stuff surveyed on their earlier best-of, and seems to digitally boost the drums on tracks like the 1975 "Tush." Still, later cuts like "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" and "My Head's in Mississippi" are full-on triumphs of this trio's very weird, very blues-drenched sensibility. --Rickey Wright

this cd you cant go wrong. this band is great. billy gibbons can rock and play the blues. he has some of the coolests riffs and solos. every song on this cd is awesome. the cd is a must have if you like rock music. i own every cd they ever did. this one is one of the best they got. zz top is so good, they are legends.

When ZZ Top's music was first put onto cd all of their material from 1970 to 1981 (except Deguello) was 'figurized' with reverb added and drums remixed. The thought was that they would need to tweak them slightly to get people to buy them who had already bought their albums on vinyl.

ZZ Top you hate em or you love em. I dont hate these guys but i just honestly dont like really any of the songs on this album except three, Sharp Dressed Man, LA Garange, and Tush. Every other song on here i really hate ecsepcially, "Planet Of Woman", or "Legs". ZZ Top all they do is sing about hot women and getting some.
