Editorial Review:
Album Details: Same as USA Version.
Amazon.com essential recording: With the pop sense of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks now leading the band, Fleetwood Mac moved completely away from blues and created this homage to love, Southern California-style. Each songwriter makes his or her presence known: Nicks for her dreamy, mystical reveries ("Dreams," "Gold Dust Woman:); Christine McVie for her ultra-catchy slogans ("Don't Stop"); and Buckingham for his deceptively simple pop songs ("Second Hand News," "Go Your Own Way"). "The Chain," written collectively, is the Mac at their most dramatic. But it's the ensemble playing, the elastic rhythms, and lush harmonies that transform the material into classic FM fare. --Rob O'Connor

over and over again. Some things just get better with age and Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' is one of them. Some of the songs are haunting, some upbeat, but every one on this CD is superb.
Fleetwood Mac has that special combination of ingredients that made for solid gold. I hate to say that the day of great music like this has come and gone, but where has music like this gone?
Get this CD, relax, and kick back and remember or discover for the first time what real music ... Read More

This is no knock on the album itself. It's a classic even if some of the songs have been played to death beyond the point of becoming cultural cliches or for those who can't help of "Don't Stop" being the adopted theme song for Slick Willy, get over it. Plenty of good songs have been hijacked for lousy promotions. The two Mac albums after Buckingham and Nicks joined are two of the most universally appealing albums ever without being crassly commercial, and in the context of where mainstream pop ... Read More

A definite change from the group's blues past, Rumours is the second album released by the band featuring the classic line up which included, female singer-songwriters, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie. The two girls contribute a number of songs here as does the band's front man, Lindsey Buckingham. This line up is seriously different from that of the original group. Originally a blues outfit, things almost got out of hand for the band when guitarist Peter Green left due to metal illness. Instead ... Read More

This is a classic album--really the best of Fleetwood Mac. We had it as a record as a kid and it was time for me to own it. A great one!

I can't think of a better release by any other band. 30 years of listening and it is the only album I can still stand. I remember so many times claiming that a different album is the best of all time. Such as the Wall, Styx's Pieces of 8, Foreigner's Head Games, Journey's Escape. I'm just naming a few but there are many others. Maybe Sgt. Pepper or Pet Sounds would beat out Rumors but I would walk away with Rumors if I had to chose. Sgt. Pepper and Pet Sounds were before my time anyway.
